Battle of the Brands: Comirnaty vs. Spikevax

You guys probably know how I feel about the name Pfizer has given their COVID 19 vaccine, Comirnaty. In this video, I put it into a battle of the brands vs. Moderna’s vaccine name, Spikevax. Basically, I just wanted to kick Comirnaty’s ass one more time. It’s that bad.

TRANSCRIPT:

Hey guys, it’s Rebeca with BrandTrue and we’re going to do one of our “Battle of the “Brands” because the brand name of Pfizer’s COVID vaccine, Comirnaty, (I’ve got to look it up every time before I say it because it will not stick in my brain!) it is so bad that I’m giving it yet another video to kick its ass. And in this one we’re going to put it up against Moderna’s vaccine, which is called Spikevax, because when you compare the two, it shows even more how badly Comirnaty sucks.

So if we look at our framework for assessing names, the BrandTrue framework, the first thing T… Is it a Transparent communication? Comirnaty? It means nothing! I mean, pharmaceutical names are typically not very transparent communications, but Spikevax, okay, the corona is named corona because it has spikes. It looks like a crown. And Spikevax, it says everything. It says the spikes on the virus, it’s a spike, like spike the ball. It says it’s a vaccine with the vax. So for transparent communication, Spikevax wins.

Next. Is it Real? Is there some kind of real, authentic connection? Comirnaty they would tell you that it has to do with community and also with the RNA. Rrr-naty. Horrible. No. Nothing comes across. But Spikevax, they get it for that one. Okay. Next. U. Is it Unique? Comirnaty, not particularly. Spikevax, yes. And finally, is it Engaging? Comirnaty, like I said, I can’t even remember it and I think about it way more than most people because I name things. Spikevax, engaging, adorable.

When I heard the name Spikevax, it made me proud that I had that vaccine in my arm instead of the Comirnaty. That’s kind of ridiculous. That’s the power of a great name. So that’s what I think. I know which brand wins in this challenge. What do you think? Let me know. Bye!
