TRANSCRIPT:
Hey guys, it’s Rebeca, and today, I want to talk about Nom Nom Dog Food. Does this name suck? I mean, some people don’t like mouth sounds. It, of course, freaks them out. I think it’s called misophobia, but that doesn’t bother me, and in fact, I love this brand name, Nom Nom.
Actually, what this is is onomatopoeia, you know, like the very old “Batman” show of Bang! Pow! Onomatopoeia is when you take a sound and turn it into a word, and I actually love this as a naming strategy. It’s things like Meow Mix, an old name, but a good one, right? Pop-Tarts, they pop out of the toaster. TikTok, you know, like, fast and time is going. Zoom, also about fast.
These are onomatopoetic or like onomatopoeia-adjacent names. I think it’s really high energy, powerful. It’s a great strategy. And no, Nom Nom, the dog food brand, it does not suck. It’s delicious. Thanks. Bye!
