TRANSCRIPT:

So guys it’s Rebeca. What do you think when you see the name Slutty Vegan? It’s very polarizing. I happen to really like naughty names. I’ve talked about it here before, if, you know not just gratuitously, but if it’s helping you with your positioning, with your strategy and this is a chain, there’s more than one.

I guess that makes it a chain of vegan restaurants, but they’re, they’re kind of nightspots too, you know, in Atlanta and in the South and so this name, I think actually does a really great job of attracting who they want to attract and also, even though some people find the name inappropriate, I think it’s okay because there’s nothing wrong… it can be quite strategic to repel who you need to repel.

This is also, it’s a little generational, not strictly age tied, but there’s this thing in the culture about rejecting slut-shaming, rejecting criticizing people, women, for being sexually active when we celebrate it in men. And so for people that are plugged into that idea, that are aware of that idea, the name is playful not offensive because it’s not an insult. So again, that plays to attracting the right people, being okay with repelling the people who aren’t your people in order to have a stronger point of view and in order to be less bland and more interesting. So, I think that this name works because I think that this name is BrandTrue and I would love to know what you think. Let me know. Bye!
